I’d like to think that I’m quite an observant soul. I tend to notice things. A lot of the time, I notice things other people don’t. Sometimes I make things more complicated than they need to be, and so miss the obvious things… An example? Ok then:
The other day, when I came into work, one of the other lads asked me if I was Welsh. I told him that yes, I was, and then proceeded to expand on how well he’d done to pick out the Welsh accent from all the Midlands, and Yorkshire inflections I’ve developed over the years. He’d only recently moved to England from Mumbai, and so I thought he’d been quite observant to pick out what must have been a relatively unknown accent to him.
“No”, he said. “It says Wales on your work ID.”
